Frequently asked questions
The things creators usually want to know before getting started.
How does the follow-gate work?
When someone comments your keyword, a follow-gate flow can require them to follow you before it delivers your link. If they already follow you, Tregr sends it instantly. If not, it asks them to follow first, then delivers once they tap to confirm — so you grow your following while you hand out your resource. The gate uses Instagram’s follow status; you can also skip the gate entirely for a plain instant reply.
What happens if I hit my plan's conversation limit?
Each plan includes a set number of conversations per billing period. Once you reach it, new comments simply stop triggering DMs for the rest of that period — nothing breaks, and your flows stay set up. You can upgrade any time to raise the limit immediately, or wait for your period to reset. You’ll see your usage on your billing page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel yourself from Dashboard → Billing — no email or support ticket needed. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle you’ve already paid for, then drops to the free tier. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Is my Instagram data safe?
We only request the Instagram permissions Tregr actually needs — reading comments on your posts and sending DMs on your behalf — and we store your access token securely. We don’t post without your say-so, and we never sell your data. Exactly what we collect and how it’s protected is in our Privacy Policy.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Deleting your account (Dashboard → Settings → Danger Zone) is instant and self-serve: we immediately cancel any active paid subscription, disconnect your Instagram account, and permanently delete your account and all associated data — flows, conversations, and leads. It can’t be undone. See Privacy Policy for the specifics.
Do I need an Instagram Business account?
Yes — Tregr works with Instagram professional accounts (Business or Creator). It’s a free switch in your Instagram settings if you’re on a personal account today.
